High School Student Work

Each student will produce a short, 2 minute video documentary about a visual artist of their choice, using expressive narrative and editing techniques to exhibit the artist's particular intention, style and genre. Click here to access the MCA and scoring tool.

Students will produce a 1 minute documentary video that compares and contrasts the form and content of a selected documentary or news segment (informational) with a 30 second commercial (persuasion) on a related topic by editing together images, sound and movement selections from each and adding their own interpretive text and narration. Students JC5-15 and JC5-16 worked collaboratively on a video and script and submitted individual reflections. These students also scored themselves on an additional teacher designed rubric. Based on this evidence of learning, their work was scored at standard during the benchmarking process.
